I remember, when I first made the unsweetened almond milk | homemade almond milk, I was more than surprised. The grocery almond milk is very good in flavor, right? I was always so concerned that it was made out of some unnatural ingredients. Honestly, I never checked them carefully, but what I know is that the unsweetened almond milk | homemade almond milk is a completely different world.

And here comes the funniest part. Sorry, I feel I have to share this with you because this was my very first attempt failure. When making the unsweetened almond milk | homemade almond milk for the first time, I selected the wrong blender option. And the heating was on! Curious to know the end of story? Approx 4 hours to clean both the blender and the kitchen… Dohhhh!!! So if you have the blender that has heating function, MAKE SURE IT IS OFF! 🙂

  • Soak almonds overnight
  • Add 1 cup of almonds with 4 cups of water into the blender
  • Blend until you get smooth liquid
  • Using the nutmilk bag, separate the liquid and almond meal

Notes

  • if you want lighter almond milk, use 5 cups of water instead of 4
  • if you want salty or sweet almond milk, add salt or maple syrup, I prefer plain so I have more options when it comes to using the milk for other recipes
  • store the unsweetened almond milk | homemade almond milk in fridge for up to 5 days
