Pasta Pesto Pizza exists because I love cooking and baking. This page is my cozy corner, the place where I share my best discoveries with you. The chocolate pear cake is one of them. It is a super soft chocolate cake that is different than others. Why? Because you put the entire pears directly into the batter. Sounds interesting? Bear with me!

I was literally wowed when I tried the chocolate pear cake for the first time. It is not only beautiful, it is super delicious! Since then, I started making this chocolate and pear cake quite often as it is extremely easy and quick. But there is a problem. Everytime I bake it, we all fight for the piece with some more pear!

If you are looking for a simple chocolate pear cake recipe, here is the one! The most time consuming part is melting the butter and chocolate. The rest is mixing all the ingredients together. And the final part is tucking the pears into the batter. And this is it! ALERT NOTE: you do not cut the pears, you DO. NOT. They are the most beautiful part of this cake, especially when served, you will see!

The amount of ingredients is just right for a standard loaf pan. It may seem too few so you may wonder doubling the amounts. Be ensured that this is all right and the batter will lift once you add the pears, and will increase in volume as it bakes. I know you will still want to make it double, so did I when I first baked it. On the other hand, this chocolate pear cake is so good that mayyyybe I will go for double next time, too! 😀

It’s Saturday, 3.15pm now. I am going to get the batter ready, and will do some yoga. When I finish, the cake will be ready. Want to try baking the cake with me? Let me know the results by sharing the picture on Instagram, and tagging me @pasta_pesto_pizza!

Enjoy!
