The broccoli salad is absolutely new to me! I have learned this recipe from my Mom who once made it to her friends who came to visit. The salad is made with fresh broccoli, which is why it is so easy to make as no boil is needed. There is also a secret ingredient that I add on top of the salad. Want to find it out? Stay with me!

This salad is quite a summerish dish. Yet I love it in winter, too! Also, I would say this broccoli salad can be easily used as a side dish. I would absolutely have it with some meat such as chicken. Let me know your thoughts!

This broccoli salad is extremely easy to make. I would highly advise to leave it in fridge for at least an hour before serving as it helps the broccoli to absorb the flavors. I you have a chance to choose the type of mayonnaise, I would go for the one that is stronger in flavor, and more acid than sweet.

  • Start by leaving the cranberries to soak for at least 10 minutes
  • Cut the buds of your broccoli
  • Add cranberries, chopped red onion, mayonnaise and salt, and mix well
  • If possible, let the broccoli salad sit for at least an hour, otherwise your salad is nearly ready
  • Secret ingredient: sprinkle the salad with some pomegranate seeds
