This apple cake is a no fat cake as there is not even a drop of butter in it! The taste is still super delicious, and it is the condiments such as dried cranberries and apricots that make the cake have the right moisture.

I know this apple cake base recipe since I was a kid. My Grandma still makes this cake almost twice a month. Her cake is absolutely the best! The interesting part is that she likes changing the condiments, and sometimes makes this cake with raisins and dried orange zest. Oh I wisk I was in my Grandma’s kitchen now chatting with her while waiting the cake to finish baking! 🙂

This cake is a no butter cake, yet the taste is still extremely good. I love this apple cake recipe because it is super easy to make, and it only takes a couple of minutes to getting the ingredients ready. The rest is the baking time. You may want to make this cake for your coffee break, or when your friends are coming over. You all will love it, I promise!

To be honest, I love the apple cake far more than the apple pie. This is because of the sponge cake that is super delicious (even raw… :D). What is great about this cake, is that you can use any condiments you like. I love adding some nuts such as almonts or hazelnuts.   • Preheat the oven to 350F (180°)
  • Get your apples ready first: peel them and cut into cubes. Then cover with a mix of brown sugar and cinnamon
  • Beat eggs with sugar, add flour, mix well, then add vanilla extract
  • Cut dried apricots into cubes, mix them into the dough
  • Add dried cranberries, mix well
  • Grease the baking pan, and sprinkle with some bread crumbs
  • Lay the apples down the baking pan, pour them off with the dough
  • Bake for 40 min or until golden brown
  • Let the apple cake cool for at least 15 minutes. Then upturn into your serving dish. You may want to cover the cake with some caster sugar before serving
