Is there any dish that you could eat, and eat, and still eat, and eat some more? Daily! Oh I do have such. And it is the homemade hummus (in this case the hummus without tahini) that is my number one dish. I could eat it for breakfast, lunch, dinner…and night snack! You may say “but what about the breath”? Ok, continue reading as I have some good news here!

As you may have guessed already, the homemade hummus is very easy to make. I love tahini, and I find this hummus without tahini even tastier! I have never tried to mash the chickpeas by hand, but I am sure it would turn delicious too (it is only the texture that would be uneven, but hey, it is the taste that matters most, right? RIGHT?!

Wondering what is the best way to eat homemade hummus? I do have my all time favorite. How do you eat it? Plain, or maybe with on a toast? There is nothing better than a fresh stick of veggies, but read further to find out my favorite veggie and hummus without tahini combination.

I love homemade hummus on toast, of course I do. Who would say no to a crunchy piece of fresh bread with some hummus on top. I fully agree! But I love the hummus without tahini even more with…… some carrot, cucumber oooor celery sticks. Celery stick is my favorite when it comes to eating hummus, as I love the strong flavor of this vegetable, that matches so well with the chickpea flavor.

When it comes to the texture, I usually use the electronic food processor. You can mash the chickpeas by simply using the fork. Again, we do care about the taste rather than the texture (I am not saying it is less important, no no no!). Oh and I almost forgot: want to know the secret to avoid bad breath the day after eating hummus or any other food with garlic? Take a couple of leaves of basil or parsley and chewing them a bit in your mouth before swallowing. IT WORKS!
