Sunday. Lazy day. Waking up with no alarm and enjoying the beautiful day. It’s all white outside, it was showing all night long. It doesn’t seem spring is behind the corner, at least not behind the window 😀 Getting up and making a beautiful banana bread mug cake to start my day off.

Are you enjoying Sundays as much as I do? I love the slow motion days where relax, TV, blanket and a cup of hot tea is all I need. I wish I wanted to dedicate more time for my Sunday breakfast, but all I want is something quick and delicious. And the banana bread mug cake works best!

The banana bread mug cake is super fluffy, nice-textured mug cake that only takes a moment to make. A lovely part about this mug cake is that you can top it off with anything you like. Oh I love it with chocolate chips (or chopped chocolate) and nuts. What are your favorite toppings? Share your favorites in the comments below!

I love bananas and I usually get some while doing grocery, even if I know I still have some at home. This is because even if bananas overripe, I know I can still use it for recipes such as banana bread mug cake or regular banana bread loaf. Did you know that bananas can be frozen and then used for smoothies instead of ice-cubes? What a great idea, isn’t it?

Let me share some interesting facts about banana bread: first, there are actually banana bread versions that need dough raising. This must be interesting and worth a try! And here is the second: February 23 is known as the National Banana Bread day in the US. This is funny, and I can firmly say that counting the times I bake the banana bread, I am one of those who celebrate this day maaaany times a year 😀

Have you tried to make the banana bread mug cake yet? I am so curious to know your favorite toppings. Let me know in the comments below, and I will give it a try, too!

Enjoy!
